Mason's first time with rice cereal

We fed Mason rice cereal for the first time today. He really likes putting the spoon and cereal in his mouth. It is the keeping the cereal in the mouth and swallowing he seems to have trouble with. I just don't think he likes it. I tasted it and it tastes like cold nothing. I wouldn't swallow it either. I gave what Mason didn't drool all over his shirt to The Bear. He loved it.

Stranger Danger, poor Ed

Poor Grandpa Ed. Although we see him at least once a month, Mason still gets a little Stranger Danger when he is tired.

Merry Christmas Day Everyone!

Christmas day was a special treat for us this year. Matt's brother Dave, wife Robin, and kids (Shannon 7 and Evan 4) flew in to spend this holiday in our neck of the woods. We went over to Grandma Cathy and Papa's house first thing in the morning so we could be with the kids while they opened presents.
Matt's brother Rick and wife Michele came over a little bit later for breakfast.
Rick gave Papa the Star Wars game for the Wii. Big Hit with everyone!! The kids and boys spent much of the afternoon playing the game. Kate's dad (aka Grandpa Ed) joined us all for Christmas dinner.
Traditionally we go to Time Out in the evening to say Merry Christmas to our friends. We were having to much fun with the family and did not make it this year. We feel bad about breaking this tradition, especially because we made cookies for everyone, but we understand life has to change once you have kids. Maybe we can give them the cookies if we see them on New Years Eve.
It was a really good day.

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. Christmas Eve was spent with Kate's sister's family. Attended by Kate, Matt, and Mason, Suzanne, Ming, and Jayce, Grandpa Ed, Ming's cousin Steve, Sharon, and Matthew, Ming's Aunt and Uncle Fung. It was a lot of fun and the food was fabulous. Ming is an excellent cook!
It was a riot watching Jayce open presents. We were so happy he liked the Hulk Smash fists we got him. He had a great time "smashing" uncle Matt to bits. We have it all on video and will post it someday. Even Mason had fun opening presents. He really loves the stuffed panda from Grandpa Ed. Currently it is bigger than Mason but Mason still tries to eat it :)

Mason rolls over

Mason rolled over today. If he knew I was in the room I don't believe he would have done it. Instead he would have whined at me to get his toy for him.
I watched as he just kept reaching for that teething toy. It was so hard not to say anything as I watched him stretch..stretch..and finally roll. It was awesome!

Happy Birthday Kate

We dropped little Mason off with the Papa and Grandma Cathy and headed to the bar. Kate wanted to bring back the Azteca birthday tradition.

Mason's first cold

Mason has his first cold as of 11/25 - Cough and congestion. It is so sad when he is miserable and there is nothing you can do to make him feel better. We had two nights of no sleep. Matt took the first shift, woke me at 3am and I took the second shift.
He is usually such a happy baby. You could tell he was trying to be happy. You could see him trying to smile while his bottom lip was pouting. Here is a pic where you can see the bags under his eyes. He is feeling much better now (except for the cough).
